Dominic Muembo (Jhb) aka Savio

Born Dominic Muembo, in Johannesburg South Africa, Producer and Rapper Savio was first drawn to music at the tender age of 6 and took a special interest in the genre of Hip Hop by the age of 13. Being inspired by quintessential lyricists and producers such as Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Elzhi, Pete Rock, and J Dilla, Savio had the resolve to blur the line between Artist and Producer and honed his craft to become a fully-fledged hybrid of both mediums.

Savio’s journey into producing music started in his late teens and has been evolving ever since then. With the hopes of mastering his craft, he went on to study sound engineering at Cape of Audio Engineering in order to have an intricate understanding of the music production process. Now being able to produce a wide array of genres ranging from Hip-Hop and RNB to Future Beats and Electronic Soul, constant innovation and creative merging of eclectic genres are all a part of his creative process.

Having been featured in various local blogs and accumulating thousands of plays on SoundCloud, Savio has his sights set on releasing his debut Instrumental EP through the established media house Content Create Africa. The body of work will be structured to feel like a listening experience and will encapsulate his eagerness to delve into multiple genres from Lofi and Future Soul to 70’s inspired Afro Beat and 60’s inspired Jazz all while incorporating modern grooves to create a fresh new blend of the old and the new. Apart from this Savio has also signed a publishing deal with an exciting new publishing company named Africa Loves Music with the hopes of branching out into different creative spaces.
