Lelowhatsgood is a Johannesburg-based, international award-winning DJ, producer, writer, and cultural curator. He’s an innovative creative force disrupting the African media landscape & fast becoming a unique voice in South African entertainment. Lelowhatsgood (real name Ntsikelelo ‘Lelo’ Meslani) became a DJ in early 2017 and has played unique blends of various genres, including House, Gqom, Amapiano, Ballroom and Baile Funk. Releasing his first critically acclaimed single “Demon’s Kiss” in 2022 alongside Dee Traits, he has since honed his skills to become a sought-after DJ and producer at home and abroad with a highly anticipated EP titled “Next Level” set to be released on 24 May 2024 under his new home CCA/The Music Arena & Gallo Music Publishing.

Lelo has played on international stages including AFROPUNK, Boiler Room (2019 & 2022), Tresor Berlin, and Ultra Music Festival (2023 & 2024) to name a few.

In addition to his music career, Lelo is a writer and cultural curator. He has written for various publications, including The New York Times, Mail & Guardian, HUNGER Magazine, Glamour, and more. As a cultural curator, Lelo is the pioneering force and founder behind VNJ BALL- an inclusive ballroom movement that centers the pleasure of the LGBTQI+ community and has art, music, fashion, and dance at the core of its concept.

Lelo is known for his innovative approach to curating events, which often highlights emerging talent from South Africa’s underground scene. As a queer creative, Lelo is an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and representation in the media and entertainment industry. He uses his platform to amplify queer voices and stories, paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse industry.

Lelo’s work has not gone unnoticed, as he has received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to the arts and culture scene in South Africa and beyond.
