Chris Blignaut

Chris Blignaut (1897–1974) was an Afrikaans businessman, singer and songwriter. He was the first South African singer to sign a contract with a record company (in 1930). Some of his hits include: Ou Ryperd, Ou Tante Koba , Die Donkie and Da Oorkant Die Spruit . He made a total of 120 recordings over his career.
