Benjamin Dube

Bishop Benjamin Dube is a South African gospel recording artist, songwriter, music producer, and ordained minister. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has established himself as a central figure in African gospel music, known for his vocal performance, live worship recordings, and mentorship of emerging artists.

Dube developed an early interest in music, learning to play guitar by age nine and later mastering the piano and drums. During his youth, he performed alongside his siblings as part of the family ensemble, the Dube Family Singers. Following the death of his father in 1976, the family continued to perform, using music as a primary outlet for ministry and expression.

Dube launched his solo recording career in 1986 with the release of the single “Holy Spirit”. The track achieved widespread cross-over success on national radio stations and sold over 25,000 units in South Africa, establishing his platform as a mainstream gospel artist.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Dube released a series of commercially successful live and studio albums, several of which earned gold and platinum certifications. His 2000 album, I Feel Like Going On, helped extend his international reach across international gospel circuits.
