Qkumba Zoo

Qkumba Zoo is the brainchild of Levannah (vocalist) and Owl (musician/producer), natives of Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally formed as a duo called Ocean Road, and later expanded to include dancer/sculptor Tziki.

Qkumba Zoo gained international recognition with their debut album, “Wake Up & Dream,” released in 1996. The album featured the single “The Child (Inside),” which won them the title of Newcomer of the Year at the 2nd South African Music Awards (SAMAS). The single also reached No. 1 on the South African charts, the Billboard Dance Charts in November 1996 (U.S.), and reached 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Their music blends electronic, house, tribal, and steampunk genres, always focusing on creating great songs.
